Bathroom Shelving Guide

Bathroom Shelving Can Create More Space in a Crowded Area

Trying to find space to fit everything in the bathroom is a common problem, especially in homes where more than one person uses the same bathroom.

You may not think that two people can cause such a mess, but when you have his and her shampoos, conditioners, razors, and lotions, you can see how things can get out control rather quickly. A quick fix to this problem is to install some bathroom shelving.

The first area to look at is the shower. All you have to do is look down at the side of the tub or the floor of the shower stall and you would probably think 20 people are using the shower instead of 2. By installing shower shelving, you can get everything up off the floor and organized for each person that uses it.

In this case, assume that we have a married couple. He has shampoo, conditioner, his shower gel, shaving cream and a razor in the shower. She probably has shampoo, conditioner, razor, cream for shaving, body gel and possibly a lotion to apply when she gets out of the shower. If you have the shelving, he gets one level and she gets another and things will never get mixed up.

The next area to consider is over the sink. There is only so much room on the sink itself and the medicine cabinet is probably already stuffed to the gills. You can put things on the shelving that everyone uses like toothpaste, mouthwash, etc… These are things that are used every day and that there is really no need to put them away. This will make things a little more organized and also provide a neater appearance when guests are being nosy.

Last but not least, we need to put something up for some towels. An ideal place for this bathroom shelving is right outside the shower or tub area. How often have you gotten out of the shower only to realize that you left the towel on the door or forgot to bring one in altogether. Keep some shelving there, stock it up and this will never happen again.

Bathroom shelving can be quite useful, especially in smaller bathrooms. When you don’t have a lot of floor space for cabinets, you can go vertical to eliminate clutter and keep everything organized. We all like our “stuff,” and using bathroom shelving allows you to keep it without it looking like a bomb went off in your bathroom.
